In the business and sales industries, being blessed with the gift of gab can definitely propel an aspiring business person's career, but in the literary world, success is comparatively measured by the ability to captivate reading audiences with entertaining, meaningful messages. Tawan Chester, author, publisher and visual art and photography aficionado, has transitioned into the civilian world from her former U. S. Navy commitment to pursue her natural inclination and destiny to write.
A native of Jacksonville, Florida, by way of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Chester has an extraordinary writing career of nearly 30 years. Now assuming the role as a full-time wife, mother and grandmother, she writes with one intention in mind.“Much of my motivation to write comes from a desire to help others," Chester said. The former Barber/Hair Stylist and business owner has demonstrated this very sentiment in her new book release, An Intimate Walk, a self-help book encouraging the development of an eternal bond with the Creator.
While even the most prolific and experienced writers are sometimes afflicted by 'writers block,’ Chester's mission to be a resource for others doesn't impede nor diminish her continuous writing process. “I write by inspiration, which makes it quite easy and very enjoyable," Chester said.
More specifically, she even uses the same advice she offers readers during times of strife as they inevitably encounter challenges. But this woman of great faith asserts that she did not struggle with life's perplexed problems. Nevertheless, she deferred to the text of An Intimate Walk. “When the Father gave me instructions, I followed them and the desired results came quickly," Chester said.
Faith-based books is just one of a genre of books this avid traveler pens. Although initially written in 1998, Chester has written When Nobody Sparks a Paradigm Shift, Raising Slaves, and To My Daughter and My Sister I Leave… before publishing An Intimate Walk. In these books she discusses social issues in today's society including teenage pregnancy, adolescent behavior and the massive paradigm shift that has greatly affected the nation. To ensure proper publication and to oversee publication management of Chester's literary works, she developed the enterprising concept of Dumouriez Publishing.
“I needed to get the information disseminated in an undiluted form," Chester added. “To be effective, the information has to be precise and concentrated. "Demonstrating sheer resilience as a replicable writer through the implementation of Dumouriez Publishing, Chester illustrates to other aspiring writers and rospective publishers that goals can be achieved. Chester suggests that writers remain focused and confident of their talents and the abilities of God.
“Do not seek approval of those around you because everyone does not share your purpose in life… they have their own." Chester said. The William M. Raines and Florida Community College of Jacksonville graduate, is arduously working on forthcoming books to be published next year while earning a Bachelor of Arts degree.
